Meet: "The Aspen Scoop"
ISSUE #1 of my quarterly printed tip sheet features hidden gem burgers, igloo dining, the 45th annual Aspen Gay Ski Week, and more! Get it at the Aspen Info Kiosk and shops in town, through February

I was at The Sundeck on Aspen Mountain last Friday, sharing a piece of pizza with one of my best pals and showing her this inaugural issue of โThe Aspen Scoopโ (featuring the lodgeโs epic veggie burger). A guy at the opposite end of the bar called out to me:
โHey! Thanks for your help last nightโฆthe restaurant!โ
Iโd been waiting for the bus downtown during dinnertime. It was dark, 17ยฐF, and I was on the phone, pacing to keep warm, when three guys approached me. They looked desperate. Where to eat?
I wish Iโd had โThe Aspen Scoopโ then!
Now, in typical โonly in Aspenโ fashionโฆhere we were.

โThe Aspen Scoopโ is a 4โ x 11โ printed โtip sheetโ featuring fun food tidbits for visitors and locals alike. I plan to publish 4-6 issues per year (see the editorial calendar below, pending the pandemic), each printed on brightly colored, 65-pound card stock.
Readers who collect every color/issue will be eligible to enter a special giveaway in December 2022!
Hopefully, each issue will be sponsored by a food-related or food-adjacent business. I donโt plan to accept advertising from Aspen restaurants, in an effort to preserve the editorial integrity of โThe Aspen Scoop.โ
Instead, this tip sheet will feature original content based on my professional editorial opinion of good food in Aspen. I hope to highlight businesses and individuals who are contributing positively to our food scene and doing great work. So far, Iโm having a ton of fun with it!
I hope that โThe Aspen Scoopโ draws subscribers to this Amanda Rae Food Substack, and, ultimately, a food concierge service that Iโm launching in 2022. More on that laterโฆ.
